So what is eating clean? 

Glad you asked! It is the consumption of food in its most natural state – or as close as possible. This is the core of clean eating. Basically, eating clean is the practice of eating whole and natural foods such as fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and complex carbohydrates. It’s not a diet; it’s a lifestyle approach to food and its preparation, leading to health, well-being and a lean look.

You CAN achieve your fitness goal, but first you need to clean up your diet. Changing your diet is one of the biggest challenges when trying to improving ones health. Majority of people are use to eating highly processed and fast food on a regular basis and breaking away from that routine can be difficult. The good news is it isn’t impossible! Once you make it a habit to eat clean, it becomes a part of your life.

Eating clean is a practice of saying “no” to man-made sugar (refined), bad fats (hydrogenated and trans-fat), preservatives and any other ingredient that is not necessary to that food item. “An easy way to remember if a food is clean or not:

“if man-made it, don’t eat it”.

A person that eats clean practices the following:

• Always eats breakfast

• Plans ahead

• Cooks healthy meals

• Packs their ice chest for the day with healthy meals and snacks

• Eliminates refined sugar completely

• Eliminates alcoholic beverages (or significantly limits intake)

• Makes healthy choices when dining out

• Drinks a lot of water

• Eats 5-6 small meals per day

• Gets plenty of rest

Eating clean can be a major transition for most people due to addictions to sugar, white bread, and fast food. It takes discipline in order to make eating clean a habit but it is possible and has so many long-term health benefits.
